Have you ever received hate mail? How did it make you feel? Crappy, right? Here’s a love letter that will make your heart sing and possibly grow a little in the process.
Write five things about yourself you wish to change in one year. Be it a short temper, self-doubt, fear, whatever. Now dig deep and ask yourself, which one, just one of the five, you know you can change in one year.
A year from this date, if the Lord’s willing, we will reread the love letter we’ll write to ourselves today. Will you reach your goal? I believe you will.
Check back often. Let me know how well you are doing on your journey. Share your successes and failures. Together we will encourage one another to victory. What are you planning to change? Leave your love letter in the comment box.
Here’s my love letter.
Dear Paul,
Wow! I can’t believe it’s been a year already. I have watched you grow into a more loving, forgiving you. Every challenge you met head on. Some battles you won, some you lost. But you never gave up and the payoff has been well worth the effort.
I like the way you laugh and quickly forgive yourself and others. Not to say you have mastered forgivingness, but it’s clear you’re not holding grudges and making yourself sick by drinking the poison of bitterness. I love the new you. I love seeing you happy. Wishing you all the best.
Love, your best friend, the better you,
Paul
